Cottage handicrafts have long been held in high esteem in India, and the manufacture of handmade paper is one such craft that today has been employed on a large scale. Aside from its beauty and personal touch, handmade paper is often completely wood-free, instead using fibre from recycled cotton cloth to provide the necessary cellulose. The images below show the progression from setting the pulp through to finishing into a paper product.
